Sometimes people ask me where my writing skills come from. In fact, I learned the art of professional writing with my stepfather. 

Nicolas Lombard was a bilingual journalist and a lover of language and literature. We used to spend long hours refining paragraphs and discussing the true meaning of words. His credo was to “never bore the audience with wordiness”. That’s how I became an unusually concise writer.
