What does Anaphora mean?
The name Anaphora has several meanings. In Modern Greek, anaphora means “report”, i.e. the precise description of facts. The word originally meant “to refer back to something that was said before”. This original meaning is used by linguists to refer to the implicit relationship between two elements within the same text, a complex cognitive process that only human language can master. In rhetoric, anaphora is the effective repetition of an element. In our varied work, all these meanings are relevant in one way or another.
